First Blog Ever

So after talking to my former boss and reading her blog I decided to try this whole thing out. A little background on me I'm 29 and moved to the Sunshine state from the Land of Lincoln almost 2 years ago. I decided I needed a change in my life and that ultimately I wasn't happy in my hometown. It has been the best decision I have ever made! Friends who knew me just a few years ago remark on how much I've changed. I was painfully shy and basically needed to find myself. I have really grown up and I am loving the person that I am becoming everyday. It has been a struggle trying to get on my feet and it is hard sometimes because I miss everyone back home. All of my family is still in Illinois and I haven't been back to visit since Christmas last year and it's looking like I won't get there until sometime in 2009. It was weird moving here not knowing anyone really, but I have made some of the most amazing friends!

I'm told that I'm too nice at times but I don't think this is a bad flaw. I treat people how I want to be treated even though 95% of the time it's not returned, my conscience won't let me be mean to people who do not treat me right. I sometimes wonder what has happend to our society and how people treat each other these days. People do not hold the door for you places, traffic is a whole other story and rudeness just seems to surround us. I think the common respect for other human beings is vanishing right in front of us.
